Borrego Springs, on rare occasions in summer, has recorded some of the hottest temperatures ever recorded in the U.S. However, average summer temperatures run in the mid 100s. January through March is prime season where snowbirds from the US and Canada arrive in droves. Spring and fall are very mild and nearly as popular as the winter season. All-time high monthly precipitation was 5.07 inches in September 1983 due to Hurricane Kathleen. The highest temperature recorded at Borrego Springs was 122 degrees in 1950 and again in 2013.
